Baltimore Fall Engagement session – Mitchell & Meghan

The first time I talked to Meghan on the phone, I knew we would get along well!

She shared about how important her wedding day felt to her, but it wasn’t one that she spent dreaming about as a little girl.

I have to say, for as much as I love weddings now, I definitely can relate to what she was feeling! How do you know what you want that day?  Your taste changes, your priorities change over time… I mean if I’m being honest about my childhood “wedding dreams” I probably would have ended up looking like Hillary Duff in Cinderella Story and getting married to Chad Michael Murray.

(Morgan is way better than CMM, so I’m really happy that things work out better than we can dream up ;)).

The one thing that kept being the center of our conversation about the wedding day though was Mitchell.  They met in high school and they’ve been smitten with each other pretty much ever since.

I laughed as she recounted how he proposed at Yosemite.  Apparently he is can never pull off a surprise for her because he usually gets too excited to wait and tell her — but this time he got her good :)

… needless to say, hearing all about the two of them made me excited to meet them in real life.

I am happy to report that they’re even sweeter and more joyful in real life than they are “on paper”.  From the beginning of our session these two killed it! When they’re together they literally kept help but smile and have fun with one another.  There’s a comfort between them that only comes from having known each other for so long.

I was elated to bottle that up in photos for them :)

Our whole time was so special — from Meghan’s dress (check out that tie back!!), the sunlight, her dad’s pup photobombing, and the way that Mitchell just makes them both crack up! Absolute perfection!

In a little less than a year we’ll be right back on Meghan’s dad’s property to get these two married! I think you’ll see why I have no shortness of excitement to see what Celebrating Love by Marcie pulls off for such an incredible couple!

Enjoy a peek at one of my favorite fall engagement sessions to date!

Wife, mama, wielder of light & joy, and capturer of moments.  I thrive off of conversation and genuine connection.  In between wrangling our kiddos, and hanging my husband, you'll find me dreaming up my next idea or creative endeavour.  It's these things that culminate to give my imagery a warmth and joy to them - the greatest compliment I could receive.

Lauren grew up spending her summers at the shore, and when she and Nick got together, she couldn't help but introduce him, too!  Their session in New Jersey was filled with gorgeous light, sweet smiles, and so much love & laughter.

She's the ultimate hypewoman. I was pretty nervous about being photographed and Lauren made everything fun and flexible. Honestly, I can't imagine the day without her and her team. They were wonderful and hearing from Lauren was always a genuine delight.
