Some weddings are beautiful. Others are fun.

And every once in a while, there’s a celebration that manages to be both unforgettable and deeply emotional—the kind of day that reminds me exactly why I love being an Eastern Shore wedding photographer.

From the very beginning, Tyler and Lauren’s wedding set the tone with a theme that said it all: “A little party never hurt nobody.” And truly—this night proved just that.

Curated to perfection by Katie Parks Events, the celebration was a modern, elevated take on a Great Gatsby–inspired affair. Think refined glamour without feeling overdone… it included luxe linens, intentional design moments, a vintage car, and a custom speakeasy bar that felt straight out of the 1920s.  All of it was reimagined for a waterfront soirée on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Every detail felt thoughtful, stylish, and effortlessly cool.

As always, Kirkland Manor showed off in all its waterfront glory.

Nestled along the Chesapeake Bay, this iconic venue continues to be one of my favorites as a St. Michael’s wedding photographer. The views alone are enough to take your breath away—but on this particular evening, nature truly outdid itself.

The sunset?
Out. Of. This. World.

Golden light poured across the water, wrapping the evening in warm hues that photographers dream about. It was one of those moments where time seems to slow down—the kind you wish you could bottle forever.

But as stunning as the design, the setting, and the sunset were, what stood out most were the emotions of the day.

The quiet, meaningful glances. The joyful laughter. The way Tyler and Lauren were so present with one another and with the people they love most. They are genuinely one of the sweetest, most thoughtful couples, and it was such a joy to witness the love and care they poured into every part of their day.

And as if the wedding itself wasn’t already enough, their celebration was also recognized by Wed Society’s magazine this season—a testament to just how special (and stylish) this day truly was. It’s that good.

See for yourself ;)

I just love this series of their excitement! It was contagious!!

At the end of the night, beyond the glamour and the party (which was incredible), this wedding was a beautiful reminder that while the details matter, love and connection always matter most.  That’s the heartbeat of every story I aim to notice as an Eastern Shore and St. Michael’s wedding photographer.

Wife, mama, wielder of light & joy, and capturer of moments.  I thrive off of conversation and genuine connection.  In between wrangling our kiddos, and hanging my husband, you'll find me dreaming up my next idea or creative endeavour.  It's these things that culminate to give my imagery a warmth and joy to them - the greatest compliment I could receive.

I was pretty nervous about being photographed and Lauren made everything fun and flexible. Honestly, I can't imagine the day without her and her team. They were wonderful and hearing from Lauren was always a genuine delight.
