Every so often I work with couples who I haven’t met before the wedding day. Typically, we get to know each other and develop a repoírte at their engagement session. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to make it happen for Chris & Emily between busy schedules on both of our ends. This only makes me sad in retrospect because of how much I love spending time with these two!
… but what does make me happy? When I reflect back over this day I’m left feeling like Chris, Emily, and I were just old friends. They have such a welcoming, down-to-earth approach to life that just makes you feel included. Getting to relive this day as I prepped to share it with you was a total dream, because of who they are. They’re the real deal.
Now if you know me, you know that a Historic London Town gardens wedding is one of my usual wedding spots. In fact it has been a regular place for me to shoot since I did an editorial there at the start of my wedding career. Every time I’m at the venue though, I remember my favorite part… the endless locations filled with the prettiest light!
… of which we took full advantage!
This day was special because it featured —
- A first look with her dad! (How cute is his reaction and Em’s sweet niece taking watch, too?)
- A first look with Chris complete with a private vow exchange (with dreamy light!)
- AND sunset portraits by the water
… are you catching a theme here? The light was perfection all day long and I was in heaven.
I could go on and on about the special touches Chris and Emily planned for their dreamy autumn garden wedding at Historic London Town Gardens, but instead, I’ll let you see for yourself. (Don’t miss how Em & Chris’s sweet flower girl/niece totally stole the show though. She is a cutie!)
Happy Thursday! xx
