A few weeks ago I boarded a plane that took me from cold Baltimore to warm & sunny Sayulita, Mexico. If you know me, you know that I prefer to spend my winters escaping to someplace warm and this was just what the doctor ordered.
A group of us headed to celebrate a dear friend who is getting married this May in Colorado. It was a blast.
We boated, we swam, we ate all the good food, and soaked in some much needed Vitamin Sea ;)
We stayed at the perfect little casita that was a quick walk from downtown and the beach. The space was so wonderful, that we ended up spending a ton of time at the house!
The pool there made it pretty satisfying to do so, minus our discovery of iguanas all over the trees. This was my first time to Mexico, so I was unfamiliar with the lizard-like-squirrels they have there. Let’s just say that they made their presence known in unpleasant ways, and we were all happy to have a pool deck without trees hanging over our heads.
I spent most of the time relaxing so I only broke out my camera for a few photos of the trip… but I thought I’d share them with you anyway so you, too, can escape to Sayulita! I’ll also include a little itinerary for anyone who might be interested below! xx

Best friends since middle school, still learning our lesson when it comes to sunscreen.
OUR ITINERARY
Let it be known that I did absolutely no planning for this trip so I cannot take any credit for it. It was a pretty perfect set-up however!
Thursday we all flew in, got settled into our rooms (up the many flights of steps you saw pictured) and then grabbed a bite downtown & got some groceries.
Friday was a day to relax around the house – complete with lunch cooked by a private chef and a tequila tasting that evening. I don’t drink so I got to enjoy all the toasts and learn about all things tequila… and I still remember them ;)
Saturday was boat day! We took a boat to the Marietas Islands and it was beautiful. The water was such a gorgeous blue color and on our way out we even got to see a ton of dolphins and humpback whales. I was giddy!
Sunday a few of us spent some time in town while some of the other girls recovered from not feeling so great! It was a chill day before we headed home on Monday! <3
