Most parts about my job I love… the part that sometimes feels stressful!?  Waiting to share images of my favorite days!

Today, Michael & Marta’s wedding went live on Washingtonian Weddings after having their dance floor featured in the magazine this winter.  To say that I have been dying to share this day feels like an understatement.

Michael and Marta were NYC dwellers looking for a fun destination to welcome their friends and guests to.  From the beginning, Marta wanted the day to embody coastal-grandma-chic and Sara Reynolds helped her do just that.  The ultimate coastal destination, St Michael’s was the perfect backdrop for this weekend of celebrations.

The couple kicked off rehearsal at the Wildset’s Ruse (one of my favorite Eastern Shore spots!) with meaningful toasts and lots of laughter.

The wedding day may have been rainy, but nothing could’ve dampened the emotions and joy of this day.

There are so many things I could share, but I wanted to pause for a few meaningful ones —

  • In prep for the big day, Marta and her dad watched Father of the Bride during planning.  As a nod to the film and the time they spent together, M’s dad gifted her a custom pair of tennis shoes.  They were the perfect accessory for her outfit change during the reception.
  • It’s not difficult to see that Marta has impeccable taste.  Her custom lace topper to her gown was perfection.
  • This couple prioritized their people — an intimate wedding party who were nothing but thoughtful.
  • Michael’s sister was the officiant of their ceremony and she created such a meaningful experience – a detail that would be hard to forget.

Lastly, this design was one of my dreams! I love all of the coral charm peonies that Stacy Bowen curated for the event.  It made for a fun and slightly unexpected autumn wedding palette… what more could I want!?  Sara Reynolds and her team created a truly flawless event that was stunning in spite of a rain plan (a true feat!).

TLDR: I’m convinced this day was all just a dream.

Wife, mama, wielder of light & joy, and capturer of moments.  I thrive off of conversation and genuine connection.  In between wrangling our kiddos, and hanging my husband, you'll find me dreaming up my next idea or creative endeavour.  It's these things that culminate to give my imagery a warmth and joy to them - the greatest compliment I could receive.

I was pretty nervous about being photographed and Lauren made everything fun and flexible. Honestly, I can't imagine the day without her and her team. They were wonderful and hearing from Lauren was always a genuine delight.
