Early spring in Baltimore has a personality all its own. One moment it’s sunshine and blue skies, the next it’s brisk winds reminding everyone that winter isn’t quite finished yet.
Mike and Cathy’s wedding celebration last March had a bit of both — a day that looked like the first hint of spring but arrived with 40-degree temperatures and winds that certainly had opinions of their own.
And yet somehow, it only made the day feel more memorable.
Because inside, the celebration was filled with the kind of warmth that only comes from being surrounded by the people who know you best.
From the moment the wedding began, it was clear that this day was about one thing above all else: the people.
Mike and Cathy gathered their closest friends and family to celebrate alongside them, and there was an unmistakable feeling in the room. It’s the feeling when all your favorite people find themselves in one place, genuinely thrilled to see two people they love begin a new chapter.
As a Baltimore wedding photographer, some weddings you remember for their design.
Others for the party.
But the ones that stay with you the longest are the celebrations where the love in the room is tangible.
Mike and Cathy’s wedding was exactly that.
A true highlight from the day was the sacredness of the ceremony. Often times, people worry that doing a first look will take away from that moment of walking down the aisle.. not in this case. There were tears of joy from friends and family alike — because Cathy was a vision and these two were finally setting off on their life together forever.
The same warmth that guests felt throughout the celebration carried over into the stunning design by LynnAaron of Nouvelle Weddings. She transformed the space into one that felt intimate and unforgettable to enjoy the evening’s festivities.
Not to mention.. the Ceiling Install I’m still dreaming about.
Soft drapery intertwined with lush greenery transformed the room, creating layers of texture and movement that felt both romantic and dramatic. Paired with the rest of the stunning florals by Kate Campbell and it was chef’s kiss.
It’s safe to say: drapery meets greenery forever, please.
There are so much more I could say about this intimate Woodberry Kitchen wedding celebration, but for now, I’ll just let you take a look at one of my most favorite weddings from last season. It won’t take long to realize why this is one of my most favorite days ;)
