According to “the Instagrammers“, you’re supposed to be better about posting yourself on Stories. I for one am terrible at showing up and showing my face there. So I decided I needed a good reason to do so, and each week I am going to dust off my old elementary-school-program news anchoring skills to bring you a new segment called, “Office Chats with Lauren.”
Office Chats is a space for me to share some hot takes, things that are trending, people in the wedding world that are inspiring me, and a few tips along the way to make couple’s wedding planning process a little easier. Lucky for you, you get to read about them here, too from time to time.
First on my list of opinions — I want you to know about the Invitation Suite Must-Have that you should not skip.
In wedding land, people will agree that a beautiful invitation suite is the perfect way to kick off your guest experience. It’s warm, inviting, and gives all the details you need. Having a beautiful invite is one of my favorite things, too… the stationers I get to work with are true artists.
There’s a bit of a debate in our industry this day about the typical way we photograph an invitation suite. Some people say that flat-lays are dead. Well, I disagree. Look at how beautiful this is.
Now, here’s what I need you to know though… As a photographer, obviously the main invitation itself, is essential. It gives you all the details, tells your guests where to go, all those functional things in a very pretty way. However, the must-have thing that can be overlooked as a photographer is the envelope.
Envelopes are an art all their own. With calligraphed ink on the front, vintage stamps— what more could you want?
Practically speaking, they also tend to add a lot of interest and color balance for a photographer, too!
Aside from the main invitation, they’re like the crown jewel.
So bottom line, don’t forget the envelopes.
You can view more office chats over on Instagram, too!
