This wedding day was 15 years in the making and it was worth the wait.
Today, I get to share with you some of my favorites from Peter & Mollie’s black-tie Brittland Manor wedding celebration last fall.
Why today? Well, it was the perfect Irish-inspired celebration (both intentionally and not) and it only seemed fitting to share it March 1st.
This black tie affair was accented with lush emerald green and a nod to their Irish roots at every turn. From the start, Mollie donned the most stunning heirloom emerald ring from her grandmother. Her two maids looked stunning in their emerald gowns. Peter even wore cufflinks with his own nod. At the ceremony, the couple planned for a bagpiper to greet guests at the ceremony and send them to cocktail hour. It was Irish-inspired through and through.
Although, with all of their planning, no one could’ve anticipated what awaited the end of cocktail hour. The rain that began just as the ceremony started gave way for the most stunning rainbow and sunset later on. It couldn’t have been planned better if they tried!
Despite the chilly afternoon it had turned out to be, we made our own version of TLC’s “Waterfalls” and started chasing the rainbow.
Peter and Mollie are one of my favorite couples because they’re the type that feel like friends even after we had just met. They are incredibly kind and thoughtful, and you can tell by how their guests all shared such genuine excitement for them, that they are the real deal. How could they not be with families as sweet and supportive as their crew is?
One of my favorite moments from their day was of course the rainy ceremony. Mollie had been checking in about the weather and with nothing on the radar, we had all assured her the ceremony would go off as intended overlooking the river. Well, just as Mollie started down the aisle, a storm came out of nowhere. What started off as sprinkles, wound up being heavy rainfall. When the officiant asked if they wanted to continue, they cheerfully said, “let’s keep going!”
… and honestly, it couldn’t have been dreamier.
Above all, I have about a million moments from their day that I’d love to share with you. Instead, I’ll let you relive them. Enjoy a peek at Peter & Mollie’s Irish-Inspired Black Tie Wedding at Brittland Manor.
