Lauren and Harrison’s Brittland Estates wedding day was the perfect mix of southern charm, bright summer tones, and garden elegance.
Taking place looking over the Chester River, this beautiful Brittland Estates wedding had the perfect backdrop in their southern affair. With the groom’s Alabama roots and the bride’s love for all things preppy, every detail was so fitting for the two of them. From seersucker bowties and linens, to bright and bold bouquets, to the incredible rentals making up the ceremony and reception spaces, no detail was out of place!
Surrounded by their favorite people in the world, Harrison and Lauren shared some tearful and incredibly meaningful vows with the most gorgeous view behind them. What started started off as a day calling for thunderstorms in its entirety, ended up being a gorgeous sunny afternoon, and Lauren’s dream of an outdoor ceremony came true!
… that is until the last shutter click of their family portraits when the first bellows of thunder came like all quintessential summer storms. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect and guests got to enjoy cocktail hour under tent as they waited out the storm. To say it was memorable is a bit of an understatement, but nothing could have rained on Lauren and Harrison’s joy that day!
As soon as the rain settled down, the party began and with their friends and families by their side, H & L celebrated the best day of their lives — smiles never leaving their faces!
Aesthetically, I’m pretty sure this day will be a forever favorite. Even sweeter though? All of those in-between moments that took place. To name a few:
- Lauren’s first look with her dad — sweet doesn’t even describe the look on his face when he saw her first!
- Their adorable niece & nephew — flower girl and ring bearer who happily pranced (ie, ran) down the aisle to fulfill their duties. I’m pretty sure that they couldn’t have been cuter ;)
- The laughter on guests faces as they made their way from cover to cover during an epic downpour
- The look of surprise and delight on guests’ faces as Harrison serenaded us all during the celebration!
To say I loved this day is a bit of an understatement and I’m so grateful that Washingtonian Weddings agreed to feature it too! Feel free to take a gander at some of their favorites, too!
Happy Wednesday, friends!
