No Instagram After 8:30PM Lessons in Progress

I read something yesterday afternoon on a friend’s Facebook wall and it said,

“Remember when we used to say ‘BRB’ all the time when we were online? We don’t say it anymore. We no longer leave. We live here now.” -Unknown

It was one of those things that I ready that stopped me in my tracks and really got me thinking about the time I spend on my phone, and how much time I spend scrolling when I should be snuggled up with my husband instead.  How much of our lives is documented on “social media” and distracts us from actually living real life?!  So in the fashion of starting things that matter, I am challenging myself for the rest of the month when Morgan’s home to a no-Instagram after 8:30pm rule!

What about you? Do you ever find yourself in a lull because you’re distracted by your phones? Maybe this evening, try putting them down for dinner so that you can be fully present when you’re together!

Just a little fuel for thought :)

How about Instead You:

Curl up and read a good book
Snuggle up with the person you love… or your dog
Bake something yummy to enjoy
Join in on your favorite Netflix Binge
… or really, all of the above!

Photo by our sweet friend Annamarie from a few years ago… and an obvious pointing-out that we need some new anniversary portraits ourselves! Ah!

Wife, mama, wielder of light & joy, and capturer of moments.  I thrive off of conversation and genuine connection.  In between wrangling our kiddos, and hanging my husband, you'll find me dreaming up my next idea or creative endeavour.  It's these things that culminate to give my imagery a warmth and joy to them - the greatest compliment I could receive.

Lauren grew up spending her summers at the shore, and when she and Nick got together, she couldn't help but introduce him, too!  Their session in New Jersey was filled with gorgeous light, sweet smiles, and so much love & laughter.

Connor and Alli's wedding celebration was full of lush florals, gorgeous details, and a whole lot of joy.  Their first look was one of the most sacred moments I've witness on a wedding day... filled with so much delight and love!

One of my greatest inspirations comes from exploring and the California coast fulfills that wanderlust like nothing else.  Anytime I have rolling hills and oceanside views, I'm in heaven.

She's the ultimate hypewoman. I was pretty nervous about being photographed and Lauren made everything fun and flexible. Honestly, I can't imagine the day without her and her team. They were wonderful and hearing from Lauren was always a genuine delight.
