I swear I’ve been trying to find the words for days about this wedding. To say it was special is a bit of an understatement.
Morgan and I have known Max for a long time — Morgan basically since Max was born, and me since he was in elementary school. We’ve walked through a lot of life with Maxwell (as I affectionately call him) in the time that we’ve known him. From trips to Guatemala, camping in Virginia, Florida, skiing in Seattle, to everyday life, and everything in between. Somewhere along the way Maxwell went from being a friend and student in our small group to our family. Most of our favorite memories include the Lawyer clan and we’re so grateful to have them all in our lives. On the wedding day Maxwell looked at me and said, “can you believe that the little guy you knew is actually getting married today!?” I could shed a little happy tear just thinking about it — Maxwell, we’re so proud of you!
As for Lauren, we haven’t known her for quite as long, but have so many fun memories with her, too! Lauren was in my small group for three years. In that time we got to know each other pretty darn well — from summer camp, to meeting together at least once a week, and all the things in between. Lauren is always up for anything, from cheering at sports games of all varieties, baking flamingo sugar cookies, or forth-wheeling at Oriole’s games, we have a memory bank full of laughter. We’ve been to more events and activities together than I could begin to count, and have had some of the best conversations over the years. Whenever I needed someone to check in on someone else in the group, Lauren was my go-to. She is kind, caring, and so much fun to be around.
When it comes to these two together, we couldn’t be happier. A prom date “as friends” turned into these two falling for each other, and Morgan and I are honored to have had a front seat to it. For as much as we love these two separately, we are even more excited to see how God uses their gifts together!
The joy these two felt on their wedding day couldn’t have been outshined by anything and I feel so honored to have been the one to capture it! I could keep going and going about how special this whole day was (one of the perks to knowing the bride and groom so well is knowing their families, friends, and guests so well too!), but instead I’ll let you see how the day unfolded.
A few highlights —
- Maxwell and his mama seeing each other for the first time. They have such a special relationship and getting to see them hug and share a moment together was so sweet! Plus, he was thoughtful enough to stop and give her a rose on his way down the aisle!
- Their bridal party… it was made up of some of our favorite people in the whole world and getting to photograph them was so fun. Thanks for being cooperative with all my crazy requests, friends ;)
- Their vows to each other… I mean, I know I’m a sap these days, but I was wiping tears from behind my camera lens. We’re just lucky those pictures are in focus ;)
Max and Lauren, we love you two!! Thanks for letting us be a part of your special day!! Without further ado, enjoy a peek at Max and Lauren’s wedding at Pine Ridge Farm.
Happy weekend, friends!
