As I sit here behind a blinking cursor, I’m finding it somehow impossible that we are here.  7 years of Reese Adaline brightening our lives.

It feels like you’ve always been a part of our lives and at the same time, it was two seconds ago that they let us drive you home from the hospital.  (Still a surreal feeling all these years later!)

 

Getting to be your parents makes us just the luckiest.

This year brought on new challenges —

You’ve grieved loss in beautiful and honoring ways

You’ve taken on swimming and skiing as challenges and are killing it

You lost and gained your two front teeth (Lol)

Your creativity (somehow!) has reached an all-time peak… no surprise that you announced that you want to be an artist when you grow up one day

You continue to support and show up for your siblings.. you’re such an important part of our family

You’ve attained new roommates this year (the dog & a brand new fish!!) and I die watching you snuggle Walter under your covers at night

You look at the world in this beautiful way… somehow you see it for how real it is but never miss its magic either

You make me proud every day.

I can’t wait to see what year 7 brings.  No doubt it will be full of just as much magic and laughter from the “laugh gallery” as you love to refer to yourself.

You are joy and light and magic all wrapped up in a growing gal, and being your mom is one of the greatest privileges of my life.  I love you big girl!
