It’s that time of year, the time of reflection and goal-setting. Often I feel like we set unrealistic goals for ourselves and end up disappointed when January of the next year comes around. This year, I am making a vow to dream big but also to dream realistically! Today on the blog I’m sharing my business goals for 2015 and tomorrow will be my personal goals. I separated them as a means for a smaller list that all intertwines. They’re (mostly) simple and things that I can really accomplish! This year is already off to an incredible start and here’s to all that I’m dreaming about:
- Set healthy boundaries and stick to them: I’m so incredibly grateful that I get to work with the most amazing couples! They’re so incredibly sweet and I absolutely cannot wait for their big days to arrive. When I get excited about something, it tends to be what I focus on and dwell on. That’s great, except for when it gets in the way of me spending time with my family! This year I want to stick to my office hours as best as I can, and make sure I’m scheduling myself in a way that I won’t become burnt out! My hope is to plan for time for me to create so that I can best serve my clients!
- Love my clients well: Last year I began creating a sort of experience for each of my clients. It’s something that I feel so strongly about because I want each of my clients to feel so incredibly served and loved! Don’t worry, I’ll just be setting healthy boundaries while I do! This year I really want to hone in on that process and make it both unique and fun!
- Finish rebranding to something me: As an amateur designer, it’s easy for me to slap things together and make them look pretty. I blogged all about my problems with rebranding here. However, this year I really want to start the year off (before I go into the new season) with a web presence and brand that reflects who I am… the artist that will be capturing your day!
- Make my 2015 booking goal: I feel so incredibly blessed that this year I am already having the opportunity to work with twelve incredible couples! Last year when I was making my goals, I never shared what my booking goal was because I was scared to fail at it, and quite honestly, I did. If I had known last year that I would have had the incredible honor of photographing so many amazing couples’ days, I wouldn’t have been so disappointed in myself! This year I’m going to be bold and I’m going to say my dreams out loud and for you all to hold me accountable! I’m hoping to work with eighteen amazing couples this year! Why this number, I don’t really know, but it seems good to me!
- Book a destination wedding: I absolutely love to travel and to photograph weddings, so it only seems likely that I would want to do both at once, right?! So there it is, my biggest dream for 2015!
Thank you guys for reading my long list of (mostly manageable) goals! Stay tuned tomorrow for my list of personal goals on the blog! Happy Wednesday!
