It’s been a little over two months since I’ve photographed a wedding and as I shared in my Instagram post this week, I’m officially in withdrawal!
I love my job and I love the roles I get to play on a wedding day.
I get to be a cheerleader as you walk down the aisle to meet your man — I promise if you could see my face, it’s always beaming at that moment.
I get to be a story-teller, a preserver of one of the greatest days of your lives.
I also do more efficient things, like wear the hat of timeline organizer, so you don’t have to.
I always take my job as veil-fluffer very seriously, making sure you look perfect… whether that’s in a field in the hillside of Virginia, in the rain on the lake in Connecticut, or dockside along the bay.
I’m a stand-in bridesmaid, groomsmen wrangler, bad-joke teller and beyond.
I get to be there on the day that you say “I do” to your forever best friend. It’s such a gift.
I think one thing that will never cease to amaze me is how unique each wedding season is. No matter what there seems to be a theme that’s woven through out each wedding celebration of the year.
For 2017, I think the thing that stood out to me most, was how personal the weddings were. From epic toasts, to beautiful ceremony messages, to details that meant so much — it was a great year. I can’t even begin to narrow down my favorites.
From traveling to Connecticut, to shooting portraits at the Jefferson Monument, to epic mountainside ceremonies, to an intimate courthouse wedding… I loved them all! And to top it all off, my couples were beyond incredible. Each and every one of them has an incredible love story and I’m so grateful that they trusted me to capture such an amazing milestone for them! It’s really the beginning of their legacy as a family — what an honor.
Even better than that? I get to work each celebration with an incredible vendor team, too!! Gosh, I’m so lucky.
Anyways, to celebrate, I wanted to share a look back at 2017… my favorites in weddings! Man, this was a hard post to narrow down. Sorry in advance if I break your internet trying to load all the pretty ;)
