Guys, you are in for a serious treat today! I mean, this Winslow Room Baltimore wedding was gorgeous from beginning to end.
For starters, can we just agree that last Saturday was the perfect May day? It wasn’t too hot, there was no humidity, and a gentle breeze seemed to come by whenever the sun would start to hint at getting toasty. Agreed? Agreed.
When I arrived to Emma’s parents’ home to photograph her getting ready and all of her bridal details, Emma graciously greeted me at the door. Sometimes brides are a little antsy with nervousness, but Emma was nothing short of poised and collected, with a smile never far from her face. I love getting to see such sureness!
Before it was time to photograph this beautiful bride getting into her dress with her mama, a few bridesmaids portraits, we had to grab a shot of her maids in their matching pajamas. Of course that had to include their adorable golden retriever in the getting ready photos. (Emma may or may not have told Matt later on that those photos were going to be her favorites because their sweet pup hammed it up! Haha!)
From there we traveled to the prettiest church to hold the ceremony. I mean, the church looks like something out of a fairytale, was the church Emma grew up in, and was the perfect backdrop for their nuptials. Matt and Emma chose not to see each other before she walked down the aisle towards him and man, he couldn’t hold back his joy and excitement. Matt is one of those people who smiles with his whole face and it was so fun to watch him hardly contain himself as his sweet bride made her way to him. His expression revealed an equal sureness.
After the newlyweds said, “I do!” and officially became husband and wife, we made our way to the reception space at the Winslow Room in Baltimore. It’s the perfect space because it’s equal parts refined and relaxed. Wait until you see how the Adriana Marie Events, White Glove Rentals, & Crimson and Clover teams transformed such an amazing space. Hanging greenery, hexagon table numbers, gorgeous blooms… need I say more?
There were so many little moments that I loved from this day…
-
the way Matt looked every time he saw Emma — his joy was priceless!
-
Emma’s radiant smile and how she glanced around her dream reception space in pure shock over how it had come to life!
-
the toasts given by their families… each one was so special and meaningful. They were filled not just with great advice, but stories that told about the character of both Matt and Emma. The pictures their parents and siblings painted of them were people of graciousness and kindness. (I couldn’t help but nod my head in agreement!)
-
after they cut the cake, the newlyweds first thoughts were of their guests. They shared the first pieces of their dessert with two of their guests whose birthdays share their wedding date. It was just another picture at how thoughtful these two are!
My husband sometimes makes fun of me for the number of times I call my couples sweet, but it’s just the perfect way to describe Matt & Emma. I absolutely adore these two and it’s my honor to get to share with you a few of my favorite images from their wedding day at the Winslow Room in Baltimore.
