The thing I love about Wedding Wednesdays is its purpose. My goal is to provide my brides and grooms with information to help them get inspired, provide resources for them, and explain how things work! Well today I’m explaining things about preparing for your engagement session. This will probably turn out to be a two or three part series because if I wrote all the things that you needed to know in just one post, you might find yourself incredibly overwhelmed!
So the first part of this series is about preparing your mind for an engagement session…. that sounds super intimidating but I promise, my solution is simple! A lot of time it is the week or night before your engagement session and you’re starting to feel a little bit anxious. Being in front of a camera can be kind of scary if you’re not used to it (and it’s totally normal to feel that way!)! Well, my job is to make you forget that the camera is even there. This time is just a time for you and your fiancé to celebrate this time in your life! You’re only engaged once and with the prospect of being married creeping towards you, it gets more and more exciting. That’s how I capture the genuine images of you two. I give you time to just be yourselves (with some gentle directing of course)!
Sometimes the things that we’re anxious about are the things that aren’t even our job to worry about. You don’t have to worry about feeling awkward or looking uncomfortable in front of the camera because I’ve got that all under control! That’s my job, not yours! I make my very best effort to make you and your fiancé the most comfortable that you can be because that’s when genuine images emerge and that’s the whole goal.
Have any questions? Feel free to ask. Make sure to tune in next Wednesday for Part 2 of Preparing for your Engagement Session.
