They had their first date in Georgetown.
It was at this sweet little restaurant that has since closed down. Lots has changed since that first date. Since getting together, their lives took them to Charleston. It’s there that Josh and Meredith spend their time with their sweet pup Sully whose island’s namesake is only fitting.
… but there’s something about Georgetown —
It’s the place they met.
It has those cobblestone streets and hidden charm everywhere you look.
Really, it’s as close to Charleston as you can get in the district.
So when it came to planning their engagement session, it only made sense to go back to the place it all began. Josh and Meredith fell in love here, so here we celebrated their engagement, too.
That summer evening we meandered through the streets and canals, laughing and chatting as we stopped in little nooks & crannies along the way. When I photograph a couple downtown, I love to see where a session leads us: it helps make the engagement session a unique experience, chasing after good light.
Well wouldn’t you know it, but that restaurant that housed them for their first date was right along our path to meet their sweet pup Sully at the waterfront. It was this unplanned, serendipity.
… Paolo’s name was still written across the awning.
There are a lot of beautiful photos from Josh & Meredith’s Georgetown engagement session, but I’m kind of a sucker for the one that has so much meaning behind it.
If you liked what you saw here, know that I still have to share J&M’s gorgeous St. Mary’s church wedding soon. I can’t wait to share more as these two prep to celebrate their first anniversary together <3
