At the height of the pandemic, Prentice & Caitlin wanted to plan a gorgeous Amalfi Coast, Positano inspired celebration… here in the DMV.  With travel plans out the window for the foreseeable future, they didn’t want to wait, and they called upon Brittany from Grit & Grace to help.  The vision? A small intimate weekend full of their closest family and friends with nods to the bride’s Italian heritage.

 The problem?

If you can remember back that far, mandates were changing constantly and their original plans to have a lunch reception in DC were interrupted.  Instead, the couple uprooted their wedding to the Omni Bedford Springs Resort.

A few days before the reception, the couple chose to get married at their home church in Georgetown with just their parents and siblings.  It was intimate and so special.

 

… and then we were off to Bedford.

C&P chose to keep their original plans for the Amalfi Coast and bring the coast to the mountains.  The bright florals, citrus, and sailcloth tent made for an incredible escape for their guests.  The Grit and Grace team worked endlessly and tirelessly to make sure that everything was perfect for this special celebration and they knocked out of the park.  The tent was adorned to perfection with the help of Ryan Redman’s floral designs and rentals from White Glove.

More than that there were so many personal touches that made the day so unique.  An heirloom handkerchief adorned the bride’s bouquet. Guests were greeted at their tables with the bride’s grandmother’s homemade Limoncello.  And the toasts given that day were full of glee for this incredible couple.

This weekend will forever be a favorite and I’m excited for you all to experience it through photographs today.
