When I arrived the morning of Brian and Molly’s wedding day, you could just tell it was going to be wonderful. The bridesmaids were bustling around having fun and waiting on final make-up touches. Most entertaining of all were Brian and Molly’s nieces — the cutest flower girls, ever, giving us all a good laugh to start the morning!
It was finally the day that she had been dreaming of since they got engaged. This sweet couple met the first week of their sophomore year of college at the University of Richmond. Who knew that signing up as orientation advisors would end up being the route to finding a spouse? But their roles of hosting new freshman certainly was indicative of how they’d want their wedding day to be — full of hospitality!
One of my favorite things about this Brian & Molly is that even though they cared about beautiful details (and they were stunning!) what they cared most about was being surrounded by their favorite people in the world. That’s why their bridal parties were full of their family and their closest friends!
Narrowing in on a favorite moment of the day was certainly a bit tricky — there was an epic dance party led by Sound Nation, beautiful paper goods designed by Little Bit Heart spread throughout to welcome guests, the cutest cherry straws at cocktail hour, and of course, epic portraits at the State House. Their portraits, I should mention, in which we avoided a torrential downpour by about 30 seconds. I’ll blame it on the fingers I had crossed behind the lens ;) Luckily, with the State House as our safe haven, we skipped out on the downpour and came out on the other side of it to gorgeous sunshine and light! (Thank you Meredith and Kara — you two are the real MVPs!!)
However, my favorite part of their day was easily their St. Mary’s Church Annapolis wedding ceremony.
Led by the cutest flower girls, Molly made her way down the aisle to Brian with her dad by her side. Molly’s dad couldn’t help but have tears in his eyes during the ceremony — especially as they exchanged their vows. Looking at the faces of their guests, you could tell that this was a day that every had been waiting for and one that they all partook in joyfully! Plus, it never hurts when Father Andy performs a homily featuring Shark Tank and has every cracking up!
Brian and Molly, it was an honor to capture your wedding day, and I hope that these photos serve as a reminder to you of all of the little moments that made up your first day of forever! Wishing you life full of laughter, and after seeing you two on the dance floor — one full of dancing too!
