Hey friends! This is me, popping in to finally answer a few ask anything posts and at the same time let you know that I’m out of the office this week.  A little thing called wisdom teeth has me down for the count, but the blog posts are still rolling!  Plus, a cute office assistant is holding down the fort for me while I’m gone, haha! I kid, I kid.

Anyways, if you are just tuning in you may be wondering what “Ask Anything” posts are? Well you see these posts game from a desire to be a better servant to you guys! I want to make sure that I’m answering questions that you actually have rather than just guessing what might be helpful! So I created this page as a space that you can ask anything — no matter the content and I’d answer them here!

So here are a few of the questions I got asked:

Did your website really used to have burlap on it?

Umm, first of all, I am dying at this question. If you’ve ever heard me speak or talk about branding, I do mention this… it really happened.  I just tried to scrounge up a picture of it and praise the LAWD I don’t have any photos actually saved on my computer of my burlap-filled website.

When I first started my business, I thought I wanted to shoot country/rustic weddings… so obviously that equals burlap everywhere? *insert shameful and hesitant head-nodding here*

It should also be shared that when I went to my first ever mentoring session with my friend Katelyn, I brought with me a website mock-up.  God gave her so much grace as to not laugh me out off of her cute chaise and out the front door!!  Instead she said sweetly “I think you should probably chat with a designer!” UM YEAH.

And because a walk down memory lane isn’t complete without pictures here are the two screenshots I had of my websites sans burlap but equally as special… we all start somewhere folks ;)

 

What made you want to start a capsule wardrobe?

If I’m really being honest, I just looked at how much money I was spending on clothes that I didn’t really love or wear! This became a big point of contention with Morgan because these purchases were being made unnecessarily, selfishly, and from an overall place of unhealthy!  I knew that something had to change, so I started sharing about it here as a way to hold myself accountable!

How did you and Morgan meet?

Aww, I love this one :) Morgan and I met at church when we were in the fifth grade.  We actually happened to be at an event at his grandparent’s farm! That meant that I actually got to meet his great-grandparents before they passed away which is so special.  We also first interacted over the fact that I had never heard of a spring before or seen it in real life.  Their property had a pond made out of natural springs and there was one nearby that you could drink straight out of.

WHO KNEW?

Needless to say, Morgan was less than impressed with my lack of farm knowledge and we didn’t actually date until sophomore year of high school.  Though his mom called us special friends for a while first.
