On Monday, I met Sam & Heather for their sunrise Lincoln Memorial engagement session, and I’m thrilled to share our time with you!
The first thing you should know — sunrise at the Lincoln is pretty darn magical. You get experience the sun rising along the reflection pool, the Washington Monument, and the Capitol building in one swoop. To see it lit up with sun rays is something spectacular. To see it without a million tourists? Even better! No wonder Abe gives a nod of approval at sunrise.
Add an adorable couple into that mix and it’s pretty much a DC wedding photographer’s dream.
When the couple is Sam and Heather, it makes for an even more fun morning! These two are so sweet and have lots of fun together. Heather keeps Sam on track and Sam keeps her laughing and on her toes. Their dynamic together is so fun! Plus, I knew that we were meant to be friends when Sam yelled, “Hi Forrestttt” at the same time I was thinking it in my head!
Engagement sessions are so sweet to me because they celebrate the season of anticipation. It’s the time in your life when you’re planning a special celebration with all of your friends and family. What could be more exciting? Probably the fact that the celebration ends with you married to your best friend for life. The joy when you’re engaged should be palpable. Just as is it with these two!
From the beginning of their session, you can tell just how excited they are to be together. Even at 5am ;) That’s why I am thrilled to share a few of my favorites from Sam and Heather’s sunrise Lincoln Memorial engagement session.
