A few months ago I got email from Taylor.  He was planning the perfect evening to celebrate his shared birthday with his girlfriend.  It would include dinner, a stroll along the mall in DC, and he even planned for them to find the perfect spot to take a photo together at the Lincoln Memorial.

… little did Erika know, at that special location there would be also be something else waiting for her.  A question of “will you marry me!?”

I had the utmost honor and privilege of capturing Taylor and Erika’s Lincoln Memorial proposal and let me just say — these two are SO fun.  Watching Erika’s reaction was incredible because she was legitimately surprised and overjoyed!!  I was instantly transported back to how I felt when Morgan asked me to marry him. *cue the sappiness here*

You know how sometimes you wonder if someone was surprised or just kind of surprised? Well Erika was surprised and I am so impressed that Taylor pulled it all off!  When Taylor got down on one knee (like a perfect gentleman) all she could do was respond with an ecstatic “yes!!”.

Getting to celebrate such a fun evening with these two was incredible.  Plus, portraits right after you’re engaged? I mean talk about an easy time capturing the joy!  Remind me to do this more often ;)
