January 2024 — Monthly Recap

Imagine me saying “Oh what a monthhhhh” in my best Frankie Valli impression.

That about sums up our January and how we’ve kicked off the new year.  Despite it being wintertime, it’s actually been quite busy & full.

Our life always seems to find that rhythm though, and we usually like it that way.

I’ve decided in my new found blogging routine that I needed a home for all of our personal memories for the month… so if that’s not your thing, feel free to scroll on past! I will be 0% offended.

We started off January (after an incredible NYE wedding in Easton!) spending a lot of time with our families.  On Morgan’s side, our whole immediate family was able to be together and it was so fun to watch the cousins make memories together.  We also spent the beginning of the month moving my mom out of our childhood home.  As you can imagine that comes with a lot… both mentally and physically, but we’re so happy for her new charming house!

Another highlight of the month!?

SNOW!

Typically I’m kind-of an angry winter person. I don’t appreciate being cold, and I really miss the sunshine & longer days.  WELL, apparently if I have snow on the ground, I can at least pretend I like winter for a bit.

In reality, seeing my kids and Morgan’s joy for the white fluffy stuff that falls from the sky is pretty darn great.  Plus, we got to remake one of my favorite photos of all time, this time with Quinny in tow, too.

May I never forget the tunnel Morgan built, the life hack we found in letting Quinn enjoy the snow via swinging, and the utmost glee my big kids had sledding at their grandparents’ house.  Pure delight.

Speaking of, here are a few more things I don’t want forget about my kiddos…

Reese Adaline —

I can’t believe we’re basically 4 seconds away from having a 5 year old in our house.  I am unwell.  Reesey girl has been growing up so much this month.  She’s the biggest helper, has been trying so hard at school, and she has such a big heart.  She cares so much about making sure people are included and I am just so proud of who she is.

Sullivan James —

He learned how to wink this month.  He also likes to walk around and says “I like you, Mama,” out of the blue, so if you need me, I’ll probably just be melted into a puddle somewhere.

Quinn Everly —

This girl is spicy always, but she has been absolutely cracking up at herself when she does something she knows she’s not supposed to.  Pretty sure her middle name should’ve been trouble, and we’re all in for it when she can talk ;)

We finished off January attending the Ravens playoff game (the one we won!), skiing with my sister & brother-in-law in Vermont, celebrating a friend’s birthday, and with Morgan taking Reese skiing, too.

January has been full, and I can’t wait to see what the next month brings.

Happy Tuesday, friends!

Wife, mama, wielder of light & joy, and capturer of moments.  I thrive off of conversation and genuine connection.  In between wrangling our kiddos, and hanging my husband, you'll find me dreaming up my next idea or creative endeavour.  It's these things that culminate to give my imagery a warmth and joy to them - the greatest compliment I could receive.

Lauren grew up spending her summers at the shore, and when she and Nick got together, she couldn't help but introduce him, too!  Their session in New Jersey was filled with gorgeous light, sweet smiles, and so much love & laughter.

Connor and Alli's wedding celebration was full of lush florals, gorgeous details, and a whole lot of joy.  Their first look was one of the most sacred moments I've witness on a wedding day... filled with so much delight and love!

She's the ultimate hypewoman. I was pretty nervous about being photographed and Lauren made everything fun and flexible. Honestly, I can't imagine the day without her and her team. They were wonderful and hearing from Lauren was always a genuine delight.
