Day-of Coordination Wedding Wednesday

Are you guys sick of me randomly flashing up our wedding images?  Whelp, I probably won’t stop… even more than a year later I still look at them and of course still LOVE them!  Anyways, today’s Wedding Wednesday is about Day-of Coordination.  For those of you who read the title of the blog, you’re thinking, duh I already knew that… Haha!

So, Morgan and I were fortunate enough to have friends who are absolute rockstars for coordinating our big day!! Morgan (my sweet friend, though Morgan my husband helped too!) helped us to make sure all of the set-up for the morning of was organized, and Nicole coordinated the ceremony and the reception!! Nicole helped make sure that everything ran smoothly and according to our timeline!  Having someone else keep track of the time was fantastic because on your wedding day, the time is the thing you’re least likely to pay attention too.  If you don’t pay attention to the time, it’s easy for it to slip away.  I haven’t met a bride yet who has thought that their day was dragging on.

So why is having a coordinator important:

  1. They do the things that you can’t.  On your day, chances are you can’t be stressing about finalizing the details of the reception or telling people where to put things!  If  you have a planner or a coordinator they take care of that for you so that you can relax and enjoy your morning stress-free!
  2. They make sure things are flowing. The coordinator makes sure that the things that need to happen at the reception are actually happening, and happening on time!  This is important for me as a photographer to know what’s going on with the timeline of the reception.  There may be times that I step out of the main reception area to capture important details or other things, and knowing the timeline helps me to know when I can sneak out to grab those shots without missing important events in your day!
  3. They help you know where to be and when to be there. Chances are that you don’t have pockets in your wedding gown.  If you do, you probably don’t want to be carrying around a piece of paper with the timeline of your day.  The wedding planner/coordinator gets you, and whoever else has to be there with you, where they need to be, where they need to be.

So bottom line, get a coordinator!  If it’s not in your budget to hire a professional coordinator, have a family friend be the go-to person on the day that can help with those things!! Happy Wedding Wednesday, and again, a huge thank you to our sweet friends Nicole and Morgan for all the help you provided for us on our big day!!

Lauren grew up spending her summers at the shore, and when she and Nick got together, she couldn't help but introduce him, too!  Their session in New Jersey was filled with gorgeous light, sweet smiles, and so much love & laughter.

She's the ultimate hypewoman. I was pretty nervous about being photographed and Lauren made everything fun and flexible. Honestly, I can't imagine the day without her and her team. They were wonderful and hearing from Lauren was always a genuine delight.
