Ask Anything: Office Edition The Swann House

A few weeks ago over on Instagram stories, I shared a tiny peek of my office and y’all had a ton of questions! So today I decided I would go ahead and answer a few of them. I also included a few links to some of the items y’all asked about.

Before I share the answers to some of your questions, I have to say that I am so grateful for this space.  It’s not always as highly utilized as it should be, but some of my best work gets accomplished there.  I can’t tell you the number of words typed, emails answered, or images edited from that desk.

Plus, the light is dreamy enough to inspire anyone, in my opinion ;) Before we bought our house, I would dream about a space like this, and now I’m just so grateful that it exists!!  As always, Morgan works so hard to make my crazy ideas come to life, my office being one of them!

Anyway, here are some of the things y’all asked, answered:

Where is your desk from?

Unfortunately for you its a Morgan Swann original, so it’s not available for purchase ;) Morgan made me my desk when we first moved in and I’m still in love!! We spray painted a pair of old cabinets, stained and planed some boards for the top and trimmed out the bottom.  I really am obsessed with it!! It’s the perfect amount of practical and pretty if you ask me!

What color are your walls?

They’re a beautiful light grey, painted Sherwin Williams Snow.  I promise in real life they are in fact actually grey, much to Morgan’s disagreement.  He was a litttllleee upset that I “made him paint the walls white.” Needless to say, I think it looks FAB.

What do you use the board behind your desk for?

The board behind my desk serves as a visual board!  Want a map to my brain with fun extras and inspo too? Look no further. It includes beautiful textures and some of my favorite photos.  The post-its I have are brainstorming tools where I create post ideas organized by category. *Yes, I am that girl*

Why do you have two desk areas?

Honestly? Because sometimes I get a little bored working at the same place.  This way I can go ahead and just plop my laptop over to the next spot and get a change in scene quickly!

Most importantly, where does Walter hang while you work?

Bahaha, this question made me actually laugh out loud! Walter does love my office because I get out a little blanket for him and a toy.  When he was little he liked to sit in my lap while I worked for a little while to take a snooze, but now he’s a bit too heavy for that!

And just for fun I thought I would share a peek at the before and after for this room.  Goodbye sage green, hello light, airy, and lovely!

I think we can all just PTL for some good paint (and for me, a handy husband, too huh?)

From the old Zillow listing!

Last but not least, here are a few links to products. Some of these links to include affiliate links but the opinions shared in this post are 102347287% my own ;)

Lauren grew up spending her summers at the shore, and when she and Nick got together, she couldn't help but introduce him, too!  Their session in New Jersey was filled with gorgeous light, sweet smiles, and so much love & laughter.

Connor and Alli's wedding celebration was full of lush florals, gorgeous details, and a whole lot of joy.  Their first look was one of the most sacred moments I've witness on a wedding day... filled with so much delight and love!

She's the ultimate hypewoman. I was pretty nervous about being photographed and Lauren made everything fun and flexible. Honestly, I can't imagine the day without her and her team. They were wonderful and hearing from Lauren was always a genuine delight.
