Let’s talk wedding hair… today, I’m debunking one of the biggest wedding hair mistakes that I see brides make so that it won’t happen to you, too!
Think about it this way: you’re inevitably scrolling down Pinterest looking for inspiration to bring to your hair and makeup artist before your first meeting or trial. Your scroll comes to a halt over that perfect updo with loose hair framing the bride’s face. I mean, could you ask for a more perfect equation for wedding hair?
Well unfortunately, loose curls around your face is something that may be practical on Pinterest, but I think that that’s where it it stops. I can’t tell you the number of times that I’ve ended up having to pin back one of my bride’s loose pieces so that it ended up being out of her face!
Now you may be thinking, okay Lauren, aren’t you being a little dramatic by making such a hard and fast rule? And maybe I am, but, if that’s your wedding hair style of choice here are three occasions on your wedding day that is interfered with:
- Any time you’re looking down, these loose pieces and bangs sweep in your face making it hard to capture your facial expressions… i.e.: reading a letter from your groom, admiring the detail on your dress, looking where you’re going as your walking with your dad down the aisle, to name a few.
- Any time your profile is present – a lot of time if it’s not pinned or sprayed back, your bangs and loose pieces actually block your face from a profile view! This can effect your first look, your guests seeing your response during the ceremony, the first kiss, and the first dance!
- Any time its windy… if you’re getting married along the water or on a windy day, you can pretty much guarantee that those loose pieces are going to blow into your face!
So take it from these beautiful LRS brides, and just go ahead and pin those bangs and loose pieces back for the perfect wedding hair ;)
Happy Tuesday, friends!
