I’m pretty sure that our girl already has #FOMO.

You see, every morning the last few days, even when her eyelids are SO heavy and droopy that I’m not sure how they’re not already closed, they pop right back open. (Kind of like they are in this photo. I promise it’s cuter here than it is when I’m trying hard to be productive). It’s like she doesn’t want to miss a second of being awake, because she might miss something.

All I want to say to her is, “it will be better for you to miss out now, than be too tired to enjoy something better later. You’re the only one that gets to choose if you close your eyes or not — I can’t do that for you!” What I actually say is, “Girl, you need to learn about #JOMO from @BreneBrown.”

… I think in this new season, I need to tell myself the same thing. Prioritizing things in my schedule and extending grace to myself doesn’t come easy. In fact, sometimes I spend so much time trying to do the things that don’t matter, that I’ve almost missed out on the ones that do! And the truth is, I’m the only one that can decide that. Everyone else can extend grace to me, and that’s so sweet… but I’m the only one that gets to choose to accept it for myself!

Anyway, just thought I would share in case you need a little reminder to give yourself a little grace today… that and that make sure you’re not too busy being fearful, that you’re end up missing out on the things that matter most <3

I wished people “hoppy Easter” more than a few times this weekend and they didn’t even disown me! #blessed 😂🙈 #ReeseAdalineSwann’s first official holiday is in the books and it just makes me so excited for all of fun to come! Life with my little fam is pretty darn sweet 💛

It also makes me so grateful that her first holiday was such a special one — Easter is the perfect reminder of how loved we really are… beyond anything we could possibly understand. God is so good 💛

Lessons in mamahood lately… in no particular order —

✨ If your baby girl is not wearing a bow, it doesn’t even matter if she’s wearing pink, the sweet little old grandpa at the grocery store will still call her “him.” (Bless!)

✨ When planning for a marathon day (literally — we started our morning off cheering on Uncle Jeremiah running his half marathon!!!) just take all of the normal routines and expectations, throw ‘em out the window, and just speak into existence that the baby is going to be a champion 🙌🏼 (hopefully I don’t change my tune tonight 😳)

✨ Keep multiple sets of clothes in the diaper bag in various sizes. When a blowout hits ya can’t be caught with just newborns for your almost 3mo old #accidentalcapris 😬

✨ Cheeks for days is a totally appropriate phrase of endearment for an infant. (Swipe for evidence) Ask me how many times I’ve said it in the last 3 days 🙈

Today *was* my first Mother’s Day, but more *importantly* it is our 6th wedding anniversary 💛

Six years ago, I said an emphatic yes(!!!) to living life with my best friend forever. In fact, I basically dragged my parents down the aisle to say yes to being your wife. Best decision, I could have ever made!!!

In the last six years, we have had a lot of adventures, seen a lot of the world, gotten to spend time with a lot of fun people along our journey, experienced a lot of heartache and so much joy! I wouldn’t trade a second of it for the world!

This year we got to start a new part of our journey together — parenthood. I love getting to learn alongside you as we get to raise our little girl together! Most of all though, I hope that we teach her that at the center of our family is a marriage between two people who are still falling for each other over and over again!

When this day falls on Mother’s Day again, I hope that Reese will realize that as fun as Mother’s Day is, I’ll always choose to celebrate our marriage first 💛
