I’ve been thinking a lot lately, and maybe that’s why this space has been a bit empty. I’ve been thinking about the things that matter and the things that don’t – but one thing about this space that keeps coming to the forefront of my mind is that I firmly believe in marriage. It’s this sacred commitment and vow that you make for forever, in front of your family and friends, with your best friend in the whole world. It’s this beautiful memory and one of the happiest days of your life. But then there’s the afterwards, the getting to do life together part and I swear y’all it’s even more magical than your wedding day. Don’t get me wrong, its certainly mundane, but there’s so much beauty in that journey too. You see, your wedding day is just the start.
And that’s why I’m writing. My writer’s block has disappeared as I’ve thought through this new series. I mean I’ve been blogging for almost four years now, creating education and resources for my brides and for other photographers. But if I believe in marriage – capturing it and celebrating it, then why aren’t I providing resources for newlyweds too? Things that will try to help make your marriage easier – recipes for two, how to combine your styles into one, teamwork, making your house a home, and so much more. I’m so excited to dive into this over the coming weeks, and I hope you’ll tune in and join me! I have so much to share… not because I’m good at it, but because I’m walking right through it too.
Happy Thursday, friends!
PS. Here’s your first tip – if you’re struggling to find proper portions for cooking for two pick up this book! We were given The Newlywed Cookbook as a bridal shower gift and I love it! It’s got so many great recipes (you have to try the jambalaya!) plus, the design is just beautiful… it makes you actually want to read the cookbook!
