Monday’s Mash-up

Monday Mash-up_0073

This weekend for Morgan and I started on Wednesday and I’m so glad it did.  As much as we’ve been traveling this year this trip was a little different… a little more just for us!! Wednesday we traveled down to Hilton Head, South Carolina to celebrate my uncle’s 50th birthday and while we were there and we got to soak up the sunshine, and visit both Savannah and Charleston.  On Sunday we came back from our trip to hear the students at our church talk about the missions trips they had attended this summer.  If you’re looking for a powerful thing to hear, that’s it!  We also went to a family cook-out in the afternoon and then spent the evening playing mini-golf with some of the couples from my small group! Phew! What a weekend!

Some of the things that transpired over the weekend:

  • As usual, I learned that I am very good at sleeping in the car.  Poor Morgan had to drive quite often on our trip down South.
  • Southern food is AMAZING!! One night in Hilton Head we went to a restaurant and I split a salmon dish and a filet dish with my mother. Mmm! So good! Plus, Saturday when we were in Charleston, Morgan and I ate at an amazing restaurant and I order jambalaya and a crab cake.  Delicious!!
  • If you were keeping up with us on Instagram/Facebook you know that I stood where FORREST GUMP ate his box of chocolates… so cool!  I’ve always loved that movie!
  • Lessons-learned: check Facebook before you leave the city that you’re in!  People gave us a ton of places we should have gone to in Charleston but didn’t quite make it to!

How was your weekend?? I hope it was fantastic!!

Wife, mama, wielder of light & joy, and capturer of moments.  I thrive off of conversation and genuine connection.  In between wrangling our kiddos, and hanging my husband, you'll find me dreaming up my next idea or creative endeavour.  It's these things that culminate to give my imagery a warmth and joy to them - the greatest compliment I could receive.

THE JOURNAL

Lauren grew up spending her summers at the shore, and when she and Nick got together, she couldn't help but introduce him, too!  Their session in New Jersey was filled with gorgeous light, sweet smiles, and so much love & laughter.

Jersey Shore Engagement

Connor and Alli's wedding celebration was full of lush florals, gorgeous details, and a whole lot of joy.  Their first look was one of the most sacred moments I've witness on a wedding day... filled with so much delight and love!

One of my greatest inspirations comes from exploring and the California coast fulfills that wanderlust like nothing else.  Anytime I have rolling hills and oceanside views, I'm in heaven.

Nate & sofi, baltimore Maryland

She's the ultimate hypewoman. I was pretty nervous about being photographed and Lauren made everything fun and flexible. Honestly, I can't imagine the day without her and her team. They were wonderful and hearing from Lauren was always a genuine delight.
