Introducing Thursday Tutorials

Good morning friends! Is anyone else excited that the crazy month of October is almost over? When they say that the photographer’s October is equivalent to the accountant’s April, they aren’t kidding! What a whirlwind! Well in typical whirlwind effect there were some blogging things that took the back burner this month, and one of those was creating posts that were for other photographers and creatives.

One of the biggest resources I had when I was first starting my photography business was reading other photographers’ blogs consistently, with all the tips and tricks that they shared!  It’s effective and it’s one of the ways that I want to give back to all of those who are just getting started!  So, in an effort to be more consistent with these tips, I’ve created Thursday Tutorials in which some posts will apply specifically to photographers and others will apply to all creatives! I’m so excited to get this started as we go into the winter months and you’ll actually have some time to practice these principles!  So make sure you tune in next week for post #1!

In the meantime though, I’d love to hear from you! If you’re a seasoned photographer, what’s one thing that you still consistently struggle with that you have from the beginning?  If you’re a newer photographer what are some of the things that you want the most information on? If you’re a creative, what kind of posts would be effective to you?  I can’t wait to hear from you!

    This is so awesome! Yay!

  2. Great idea! I’m 8 years as a full-time photographer, and I have to say my biggest struggle is blogging consistently. I get so busy, and something has to be shoved to the bottom of the to-do list, so it is usually my blog. I’m working on it, though!!

I’m limping into November. Limping. I’ve been trying to stay on top of blogging, but what I really need is to allow myself a day off. I need a nap SO bad!

  7. Alicia Wiley says:

Can’t wait to see. I know for me that keeping a consistent flow of sharing photos is so hard to maintain during wedding season.

Wife, mama, wielder of light & joy, and capturer of moments.  I thrive off of conversation and genuine connection.  In between wrangling our kiddos, and hanging my husband, you'll find me dreaming up my next idea or creative endeavour.  It's these things that culminate to give my imagery a warmth and joy to them - the greatest compliment I could receive.

Lauren grew up spending her summers at the shore, and when she and Nick got together, she couldn't help but introduce him, too!  Their session in New Jersey was filled with gorgeous light, sweet smiles, and so much love & laughter.

Connor and Alli's wedding celebration was full of lush florals, gorgeous details, and a whole lot of joy.  Their first look was one of the most sacred moments I've witness on a wedding day... filled with so much delight and love!

She's the ultimate hypewoman. I was pretty nervous about being photographed and Lauren made everything fun and flexible. Honestly, I can't imagine the day without her and her team. They were wonderful and hearing from Lauren was always a genuine delight.
