One of my favorite things lately about my job is all the travel I’ve gotten to do this year — and the fact that Morgan’s come with me, too! You may remember that he tagged along in May when we went to California for this Newport Beach Engagement session.
It was perfect because we got to see one of his best friends while we were in town and Morgan also got to meet some of my favorite photography friends!
Well this time, when we knew that I was shooting this gorgeous Crane Beach Estate engagement, Morgan decided to come along too! Obviously I was grateful for his company, but even more grateful for his driving skills. Because #pregnancy and #exhausted were still synonymous at that point ;) And 7 hours by myself each way just wasn’t cutting it!
This trip, we actually go to stay with one of my best friends from high school and see the cutest town that she and her husband live in! Which conveniently was 20 minutes away from our shoot location. We also had another amazing photography friend meet us for dinner and drive us to the estate so that we can find all the best locations! Annmarie – you’re the best!

Well as our time neared an end in the Boston area, we decided to extend our trip by a day just to have a bit of relaxation added in. Plus, this trip was one of my first times on the New England coast, and I’m definitely a bit smitten ;)
So we decided that on our way home we’d stop in Newport, Rhode Island. Cutest. Coastal. Town! (Plus the irony of the fact that this summer we’ve hit both bi-coastal Newports wasn’t lost on us!)
We stayed at the best new BnB — the Firehouse Inn. It’s in the heart of downtown, the innkeeper was INcredible, and we were certainly not mad about the fresh-made chef-prepared breakfast that was waiting for us in the morning. I’m serious. It was also perfect because we could walk to pretty much anything from there and they provided free parking. If you’ve been to Newport, you know that that’s a perk!
And just as a side note, before you look at the price tag on the room and start judging, we did not pay NEARLY what it says online. The perks of procrastination and whim — we booked our stay the day-of which means we got a mega mega deal since they were just hoping to sell the room for the night. Again, not mad about it ;)
As with any of our travel posts, I’ll leave a link to the things to do, eat, and more! Until then, enjoy a *little* snippet of Newport, Rhode Island.
