Y’all are in for a treat with today’s Historic London Town wedding!
You may remember these two from their engagement session up in Boston… I’ve only wanted to share their engagement photos about 1000 times since. There was something about these two when I met them up north — they were relaxed and so comfortable with each other. I guess that’s what happens when you’ve been doing life alongside someone for so long!
Joe & Amelia are high school sweethearts, which means that this special day has been years in the making.
One of the fun things about my job is that I get to meet the couple first. I hear about their story and what matters to them. But then, on the wedding day, I get to meet their community. A couple’s bridal party is usually full of stories like, “I know the bride from high school” or “she’s my sister!” Their guests? Some are from work, some are the neighbors that they grew up living next to.
The fun part about Joe and Amelia’s community? Lots of the guests at their wedding were people who have known them from the beginning! As I listened to the best man give his speech and talk all about how much he loved Joe and was grateful to have his friendship since elementary school, I couldn’t help but smile at the picture it paints. To have a friend so vested for so long, is a bit rare these days. (Kelston, I give you a 10, too!)
I think the people who surrounded Joe and Amelia (on both sides) show just the loyalty and steadfastness that this sweet couple has. … if there’s anything I’ve learned so far in marriage, life is sweeter with the people you’re surrounded by. I think Joe and Amelia would agree, they’re pretty lucky in that department!
For me, there were so many moments from this day that were special —
- When Amelia and Joe shared their first look… you could tell that they both just felt instantly at ease being together!
- Joe told Amelia earlier in the day that he was holding it together so that she could… right up until the officiant shared the 5 things they love about each other. It was all over from there ;)
- The speeches from both the best man and the man of honor… each so honoring of the people Joe & Amelia are. The fact that the guests held up score cards for the best man’s speech was really just the perfect icing on the cake!
Last but not least, Amelia is an incredible art director and graphic designer. She and the amazing team at Adriana Marie Events teamed up to create the perfect celebration for this wonderful occasion. No detail was left out of place and Amelia sure made it fun to photograph! Y’all — she even designed the beautiful invitation suites herself!
Weddings like these are my favorite kind… a sweet couple, romantic details, and so many joyful moments “in between.” I couldn’t be more grateful to have been a part of such a day. Joe & Amelia, thank you so much for letting me! I hope you enjoy reliving your beautiful Historic London Town wedding through these photos!!
