If you’re one of my brides, you’ve heard my spiel… you know that I love bridal details!
It’s no secret that these detail shots serve so many purposes —
-
They set the tone for the beginning of the day.
-
They serve important roles in your album design.
-
They’re a reminder of the beautiful pieces you chose to wear on your wedding day.
These are the things that will one day become family heirlooms! Talk about important ;)
Let’s be honest… you put so much thought into each aspect of your bridal look. And how many of those items will you have the chance to wear again? Your dress, your shoes, your veil — they deserve to be captured well. Plus, there’s always that practical reason too… you chose to spend money on these items! Whether it was your grandmother’s pearls, the beautiful heels you bought after scouring the internet for the perfect pair, or the engagement ring and band your groom picked for you, it matters! Your invitation suite with beautiful calligraphy scripted on the envelope? It deserves to be shown off.
We love to add extra elements and styling to these important pieces. The dress that you’ve been dreaming about wearing for the months leading up to the big day? It deserves more than just a wire hanger. Why not grab a simple wooden hanger instead?
Likewise, a custom ring box can be the perfect spot to place the ring you still can’t stop staring at all these months later ;)
Additional pieces like left-over flowers, vintage stamps, and ribbon from your bouquet also make for the perfect extras in getting ready photos.
Do I have you convinced yet? Thought so.
The next step is to be sure to gather all of things and have them ready for me when I arrive in the bridal suite. I take care of photographing these details before you finish getting your hair and makeup done so that I can be ready once you’re all finished! I don’t want to miss a wonderful candid moment between you and your girls getting ready for the sake of photographing your shoes ;)
In order for me to get these images you cherish done as quickly as I can, it’s easiest if #allthethings are already gathered for me by the time I arrive. BONUS points, if you have them all waiting for me by a window!!
Wondering what to gather?
Here’s the complete bridal details list
- All three rings (bonus if they’re cleaned ahead of time!)
- TWO clean copies of your wedding invitation. (This allows it to be styled with both sides showing in the same photo) Bonus points if your main envelope is calligraphed!!
- The bride’s apparel — the veil, shoes, jewelry, garter and clutch
- Bouquets & boutonnieres (boutonnieres are very helpful when creating those pretty shots!)
- Details of the groom’s apparel — shoes, tie, watch, cufflinks, and pocket square
- Gifts or notes that you two plan to exchange
And there ya have it folks! If you want gorgeous getting ready photos of those details you took time to pick out, be sure to gather them all from the list above!
