Oh, man, what a year it’s been! When I think about all the places and spaces we’ve traveled to this year, I can’t help but feel so fortunate.
Growing up, we traveled to the same few destinations every summer and that definitely gave me an appreciation for a sense of rhythm. But since I’ve become an adult and have gotten to choose my own way, I’ve loved getting to explore new places that I’ve never been before!
This year we went on the trip of a lifetime with Josh and Elizabeth! These two are not only our siblings, but some of our closest friends! It’s such a gift, and I’m happy to report that after a week together we still loved each other! In fact, I think we just came back with even more laugh lines… especially Elizabeth and I ;) We ate our weight in pizza in gelato in both — so how could we not love it?
Not only did we have such a blast exploring Itz & Switz, this year I also got to travel a bit locally too! I made another trip to Phoenix for a conference. I photographed a wedding and visited friends in Connecticut. I visited North Carolina with dear friends. We even made a few day trips to the beach this summer! I got to attend a retreat in San Fran and eat allll the delicious food!
Travel for me is such a fun adventure — it’s an escape from normal life, even if just for a few days! Plus, I always end up working out wayyyy more on vacation then I do normally, so that justifies it, right?
Overall, I’d say it’s not too shabby! Though I will admit it’s already got me day dreaming of the next adventure! Next stops on the calendar — New Orleans and then Seattle! But for now, here’s a peek at the places and spaces I got to explore this year!
