Monday’s Mash-up Cupcakes, Conversation, and Remembering

Untitled-1

Surprisingly, MLK day is one of my favorite days of the year.  For whatever reason its a day that challenges me to go deeper, to love more, appreciate more, and to just be grateful.  Today I’m incredibly grateful to live in a country that honors men that speak such brilliance.  Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is one of the wisest men in our history, and I’m so grateful for a day in which we all think a little more about that words he said and the legacy he left.

On a different note, here’s a peek at this weekend’s Mash-up:

  • I’ve decided that dessert make weekends awesome.  Have y’all ever had the chocolate chip cookie skillet from Chili’s!?  I split one with the newlyweds and Morgan on Saturday, and boy, that bad boy never disappoints!
  • Yesterday we had the honor and privilege of celebrating sweet little Rhett and his mama, arriving in April!  Rhett is already so well loved and I can’t wait to meet him!!
  • There’s something to be said for good conversation with special people.  Conversations can either fill us up or tear us down, but when it’s life-giving, it’s best of all.
  • Despite being in warm California last week, I’ve adjusted back to the weather quite nicely, and I’m not going to lie, while I was there I missed my plaid a little bit!

What about you? How did you spend your weekend??

I love that quote. sounds like you had a great weekend – I mean, anything topped with a choc chip cookie skillet has to be amazing, right!?

    Great quote!
(and I’ve never been to Chilli’s, might have to try it now!)

Wife, mama, wielder of light & joy, and capturer of moments.  I thrive off of conversation and genuine connection.  In between wrangling our kiddos, and hanging my husband, you'll find me dreaming up my next idea or creative endeavour.  It's these things that culminate to give my imagery a warmth and joy to them - the greatest compliment I could receive.

THE JOURNAL

Lauren grew up spending her summers at the shore, and when she and Nick got together, she couldn't help but introduce him, too!  Their session in New Jersey was filled with gorgeous light, sweet smiles, and so much love & laughter.

Connor and Alli's wedding celebration was full of lush florals, gorgeous details, and a whole lot of joy.  Their first look was one of the most sacred moments I've witness on a wedding day... filled with so much delight and love!

One of my greatest inspirations comes from exploring and the California coast fulfills that wanderlust like nothing else.  Anytime I have rolling hills and oceanside views, I'm in heaven.

She's the ultimate hypewoman. I was pretty nervous about being photographed and Lauren made everything fun and flexible. Honestly, I can't imagine the day without her and her team. They were wonderful and hearing from Lauren was always a genuine delight.
