Hello January A Month at a Glance

It’s January, which means that my new Rifle Paper Co calendar is hung neatly on the wall and everyone and their mother’s uncle is talking about goal-setting.  It’s the beginning of a fresh start for so many people, but this year for me – I feel like I needed a holiday for the holidays before I could really start honing in on what I want to accomplish this year.  So what that means is that I’m still not ready to share all that I’m dreaming and scheming for 2017 and I might not even do so for this year (I haven’t decided yet) – but I can tackle this month’s goals and dreams in real and tangible ways.

It’s crazy to think that this time last year I was getting ready to travel on my way to New Zealand + Australia with sixteen other creatives.  For some reason that feels like it was more than a year ago – probably because it feels like we’ve lived a lot of life since then.  Isn’t it funny how that happens sometimes? Some seasons seem to fly by without a second thought, and other seem like time is constantly reminding you that it isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

But I digress, and head right into the month at a glance:

January’s happenings

  • It’s officially ski season around here and I could not be more excited to “hit the slopes” tonight!  Skiing for me is great because its good exercise for you and it hardly feels like you’re actually exercising until the next day – haha!
  • Next Tuesday, my sweet friend Adriana and I are leading our first TuesdaysTogether since we took over (officially) the Annapolis chapter.  If you’re in the area and want to swing by from 10-12, be sure to comment below so that I can keep you posted about the
  • I’m also heading on a few more planes this month – I’m headed back to San Francisco for the Rising Tide Society Leader’s retreat… I can’t wait to hug such sweet friends in real life.  Then I’m headed to Miami with my sweet friend Renee to photograph a wedding, too! I’m not mad about the time in the sunshine :)

Wife, mama, wielder of light & joy, and capturer of moments.  I thrive off of conversation and genuine connection.  In between wrangling our kiddos, and hanging my husband, you'll find me dreaming up my next idea or creative endeavour.  It's these things that culminate to give my imagery a warmth and joy to them - the greatest compliment I could receive.

Lauren grew up spending her summers at the shore, and when she and Nick got together, she couldn't help but introduce him, too!  Their session in New Jersey was filled with gorgeous light, sweet smiles, and so much love & laughter.

Jersey Shore Engagement

Connor and Alli's wedding celebration was full of lush florals, gorgeous details, and a whole lot of joy.  Their first look was one of the most sacred moments I've witness on a wedding day... filled with so much delight and love!

One of my greatest inspirations comes from exploring and the California coast fulfills that wanderlust like nothing else.  Anytime I have rolling hills and oceanside views, I'm in heaven.

She's the ultimate hypewoman. I was pretty nervous about being photographed and Lauren made everything fun and flexible. Honestly, I can't imagine the day without her and her team. They were wonderful and hearing from Lauren was always a genuine delight.
