ABOUT LAUREN

People tell me that I’m an old soul, and I think that that’s where my passion for savoring moments comes from. I married my high school sweetheart, Morgan, at his grandparent’s farm where we first met 10 years before marriage! He was the one that encouraged me to follow after my dreams and pursue photography ... let’s just say he’s a keeper ;) We currently live in a tiny town outside of Baltimore, Maryland with our sweet pups, Mack, Walter, and are our expecting our first daughter in February. Our weekly calendar is centered around community and spending time with the people who matter most to us. Friday night is date night, but other than that, you can pretty much find us spending time with the people we love over whatever my latest food creation is.

my husband tells me I'm the most ocd, non-ocd person he knows

I like for everything to be in order, systems make my heart happy, I clean my office at least 50 times a year, but I’ll walk past (read: ignore) the same pile of stuff with the dedication of an Olympic athlete. He calls it crazy, I call it balance.

i'm an over-user of
exclamation points

... so if that’s a pet peeve of yours, you should probably stop reading now. What can I say, I just like to make all of the sentences feel happy! I also like to use hashtags even when they won’t work. #SorryNotSorry

on any given day, you can bet
that i'm wearing something madewell

... after all, it is the perfect love child of Anthropologie and J. Crew. My friends don’t even bother asking me “where I got that cute shirt from,” they just know. I may or may not accept payment in the form of gift cards.

i'm only ever funny by accident, and at that i'm *always* cheesy

My jokes of choice include puns & play on words. I have an utmost appreciation for people who are witty because I am clever about 0% of the time. I do laugh at basically everything though, so I’ll at least make you feel like *you’re* a comedian!

my ideal spotify playlist
would be made up of a little ...

Jack Johnson meets the Lumineers, meets country top 30, meets “Good Vibes”, meets Rolling Stones, with just a touch of Kanye on the side for good measure. My actual favorite song is Gold Digger and I am not the least bit convicted about it.

If I find out you have a dog, i will instantly love you

and will campaign for them to show up at your engagement session and wedding day. I didn’t have a dog growing up and so I’m making up for lost time by loving #AllthePups. Mine are the two best office assistants I know!

I'm also a believer in juxtaposition

which means that I see beauty in two contrasting ideas so...

I hate math but love equations… you know, like you + me + Netflix = the perfect date night.

I like a neat nick desk in the morning so that throughout the day I can make a mess on it… it gives me more space to breathe!

You can bet that if I have a drink it will be held in a cute mug, though I promise you that it will never be something hot!

I’m as easily thrilled by photographing a couple under the majestic branches of a magnolia tree as I am under the most iconic, marbled DC architecture.

I love neutrals best when paired with a tiny pop of color. And yes, hunter green and denim are definitely neutrals.
